3/9/2013                                  African American controversy on Abortion

Everyday our African Americans societies struggle with various hardships of life. Poverty, higher death rates, low income, sickness, and economics are all common in the black community, issue such as investments and loans, and imprisonment. We all as a society share these issues Caucasians, African Americans, Asian, Latinos; and any other race in the world. But when it comes to one isolated topic such as abortion, out of all races African Americans were chosen. We are bashed, we are targeted, but most importantly we are humiliated. To think that today’s society has changed so much from back then , in a way it seems that we took a step a forward and then were pushed five steps back on such a topic. And on a subject so common in the U.S, it hurts so much to that we, African Americans are earmarked out of every single ethnic group In the united states of America.
An article recently released and started a controversy on African Americans .As stated in the article “Billboard focused on African Americans abortion was taken down “focused on an ethnic group obviously African Americans. It exhibits and portrays “supposedly” how a billboard that stated (para.4) .The most dangerous place for and African – American is in the womb” raises awareness. Bu the question is how?  A spokesman by the name of Mary Alice Carr of Prochoice America claimed “ They’re attacking women for choosing abortion while simultaneously destroying family planning”.As explained little do they know women go through day to day to prevent pregnancies, and there reasons reason for abortion. Also stated by Carr , “ The issue is here  they are doing a campaign, targeting a group of women to make them feel guilty and shameful about family choices”. But do they target he other ethnics races such as the Caucasian, Hispanics, or Asian? I mean don’t get me wrong I’m not saying it in a mean way , I’m just stating how I feel. But don’t we all experience this?

It every day these things happen in our city, towns, or happen community to  everyone. And I mean everyone. But now as individuals we have to step up and explore and learn about thing that interest us. And as a young teen in America’s society I plan on finishing my research as to why African Americans are targeted on the issue of abortion.
